As a practicing Connecticut Chiropractor (and holistic health practitioner), I’ve noticed over the years that many of my new patients are often unaware of how they can improve their overall health and well-being by paying attention to the foods they eat.

For example, a new patient recently visited the office. During our initial session he mentioned how he felt “run down” and noticed that he just doesn’t seem to have much energy of late.

Now, there are many possible causes for this. To uncover the root cause takes some more questioning to help determine possible factors.

In his case, it was…

Adrenal Insufficiency

There are many methods that you can use to strengthen the adrenals. When problems of adrenal insufficiency are identified and corrected, the result of treatment can be very rewarding.

The positive effect on energy, stamina and vitality can be substantial.

So what can you do? Here’s a short list to get you started:

Buy organic grown produce as much as possible

Eat potassium rich foods and avoid high sodium foods. example of potassium foods, kelp, unsalted sunflower seeds, almonds, spinach

Take Vitamin B5, C, B6, Zinc and Magnesium.

Herbs that help are Hawthorne berry, Gotukola, Astragalus Root and Milk Thistle

Wild Yam may be the best of them all in that it will help balance the hormones and thereby restore the adrenals back to a healthy function.

Examples of potassium rich foods are

kelp

unsalted sunflower seeds

almonds

spinach

Taking vitamin B5 is very important for you, as a deficiency of B5 will lead to adrenal atrophy(shrinking). Vitamin B5 is also know as pantothenic acid.
