CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY
Thursday, October 27th 6 – 10 p.m.
Open to the Public. Learn the basics of how to safely and effectively incorporate essential oils into your massage session. You will learn the history of aromatherapy, understand guidelines for safe use and proper application of essential oils for emotional and physical issues. You will make a blend to use in your practice and receive a booklet on aromatherapy. (There is a ten person minimum or class may be cancelled.)
4 CE’s for massage therapists.

REIKI II
Saturday, October 29th 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Open to the Public. This class is designed for those wanting to advance as a Reiki healer. Although it may differ slightly, the Second Degree energy is generally about four times stronger than the First Degree. In addition to the substantial strengthening of the energy there is also a major increase in the vibration of the energy. These both offer the opportunity of enhanced benefits to clients.
Prerequisite: Reiki I certification. 4 week time-span between Reiki I and II is suggested for self-cleansing/self-healing. Facilitated by Kathleen Johnson, Reiki Master.

TRIGGER POINT/MYOFASCIAL RELEASE THERAPY/UPPER BODY – PART I ~ 7 CE’S
Thursday, November 3rd ~ 10 – 6 pm
Learn how myofascial tissue relates to trigger points, where to find trigger points and their association with referred pain, as well as how to locate, identify and release trigger points using this uniquely blended technique. Conditions this technique will help include: rotator cuff injury, whiplash, cervical conditions, migraines/headaches, TMJ, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome/Frozen Shoulder, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Tennis Elbow.

This class is designed to give participants the understanding of how Myofascial tissue relates to trigger points, where to find trigger points and their association with referred pain, as well as how to locate, identify and release trigger points using this uniquely blended technique. Conditions this technique will help include: lower back/lumbar conditions, lumbar/sacrum conditions; sciatica, IT band syndrome, Sacroiliac Joint dysfunction, hip dysplasia, plantar fasciitis, structural balancing of legs and feet.

(NEW) Table Thai, Introduction-Thai on the Table
Friday, November 11th 10am- 5 pm
A one day class to introduce Thai Massage and learn movements which can easily be done on the massage table or the traditional floor mat. Covers basic techniques, philosophy, benefits and applications, with the client lying prone, side-lying, and/or supine, working on the feet, legs, abdomen, back, shoulders.

We are honored to once again present Cheryl Chapman, former President of the NJ Chapter of AMTA. She’ll address contraindications, anatomy and physiology, positioning, draping, massage techniques, legal issues, and documentation. Open to all levels of massage and bodyworkers interested in cancer care, techniques which are also good for use on frail and elderly people.

Saturday, November 12th 10:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
The program addresses Injury prevention, Body Mechanics, Ergonomics and Self Care. It is designed to help massage therapists not get injured while providing great massages. In this class massage therapists will learn: To use a holistic approach to protect themselves from injury; Identify the physical demands of massage that can cause injury; Find alternative techniques to protect vulnerable parts of their body; How to improve their body mechanics to reduce stress and increase their comfort; Stay in shape with exercises and stretches designed for massage therapists. Recognize early symptoms before they lead to injury.
