Does self-medicating help? Of course it does, BUT to a point. As long as you’re taking “meds” — whether it’s in the more traditional form on anti-anxiety or anti-depressants or the alternative type (i.e. cannabis) — you’ll be treating the symptoms of the problem without getting to the root cause.
It is the rare person like you who is willing to consider that just maybe, this is an “inside job.” If you are creating anxiety with your own thoughts and focus, well, that is actually great news because you CAN change your thoughts.
You can change your focus.
