We have been taught from an early age that all which we need is separate and outside of Self.
As a result, this often leaves us feeling somewhat disconnected from our Source.
We live in a society which has been conditioned to seek answers to our questions, solve our problems or dilemmas, receive guidance and direction in regards to the many challenges or obstacles one might face from someone who holds a credential or a special license.
Seeking outside of Self for what we are in search of often creates a type of “mental chatter” which only aides in perpetuating the problem or thought.
But how will you know if you have entered into this state?
Finding Your Center
When you have become so engulfed within your thinking mind, weighing out your options, making a mental list of pros and cons, going over possible outcomes and solutions, this is mental chatter.
The more time you spend in this state the more confusing and complex your problem or situation appears to become.
How does one, then, learn how to quiet the mental chatter to turn inwards and seek guidance and solutions?
The first step includes becoming conscious to your breath, your breathing.
As simple as it sounds, just by turning your attention inward, you move your Self from the mental chatter as you come into being in the moment. This allows you to shift your focus, if only for a moment, yet long enough to catch your breath.
The second step is to begin to breathe consciously.
First by breathing in a deep and cleansing breath — and feel your body instantly float into that state of Ahhhhhh… feeling while you instantly begin to relax and become calm.
The third step is to move the energy which has become congested by simply using your dominate hand, cup the hand, then extend the arm slightly bent at the elbow in front of your face. Then begin to move the hand up towards the forehead, over the top of the head, then down the back in small, gentle sweeping motions.
By now you have quieted the mental chatter and your breathing patterns reflect a more calm and relaxed state.
Living At Your Center
Continue focusing on your breathing as you watch the chest area rise and fall. Move your attention now to the area of the heart, which I call the Heart Mind, the Heart of you Soul.
Imagine that you are in a place of comfort and safety.
This may be a physical place you have seen or visited before or it may be a place in which your mind has created. Whatever it is, simply go with it.
Here is where it can become so much fun.
As you sit in this place bring your attention to your Soul which awaits you. If you do not see the Soul, you may find your Angel, Spirit Guide, God or whatever comes to you, learn to embrace it without judgments. Just go with it.
Now ask your questions, seek your guidance or direction, or whatever it was which had created you to feel confused or frustrated or whatever emotion was running your mental chatter.
Then sit in silence and await your answer.
An answer will come, it always does. The problem sometimes is that it may not be the answer you were seeking so you might discount it or maybe you do not yet trust in your own inner knowingness.
Honor whatever message comes to you.
Take baby steps if necessary while you learn to build trust from within.
Remember to be patient and kind to Self as you learn to move inwards and explore the great wisdom you hold within you.
