According to the founder of EFT, Gary Craig, a small percentage of people (maybe 5%) suffer from a unique form of energy disturbance that occurs within the body.
This disturbance can get in the way of the effectiveness of the EFT Basic Recipe.
The good news?
It’s a relatively simple disturbance to correct.
And the correction process, known as the Collarbone Breathing Technique (originally known as the Collarbone Breathing Exercise) was first developed by TFT inventor, Dr. Roger Callahan, and recommended by Gary Craig on an “as needed” basis only to be used in cases where persistence with the EFT Basic Recipe does not show results.
The Collarbone Breathing Exercise takes about 2 minutes to perform and may clear the way for the efficient use of EFT in situations where EFT is not producing noticeable results.
How to Perform the Collarbone Breathing Exercise
You can start with either hand, but for the purpose of this article you are starting with the right hand.
Keep your elbows and arms away from your body so that the only things touching are your fingertips and knuckles as described.
Place two fingers of your right hand on the EFT point on the right side of your body, known as your right Collarbone Point.
Keep the fingers of your right hand on your right Collarbone Point and with two fingers of your left hand, tap the EFT point, on the back of the hand, known as the Gamut Point – continuously while you perform the following 5 breathing exercises:
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe normally for 7 taps
Place the two fingers of your right hand on your left Collarbone Point and, while continuously tapping the Gamut Point, repeat the following 5 breathing exercises.
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe normally for 7 taps
Bend the fingers of your right hand so that the second joint or “knuckles” are prominent. Then place them on your right Collarbone Point and tap the Gamut Point continuously while doing the 5 breathing exercises again.
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe normally for 7 taps
Repeat this by placing the right knuckles on the left Collarbone Point.
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe normally for 7 taps
You are now half way done.
To complete the Collarbone Breathing Exercise repeat the entire procedure using the fingertips and knuckles of the left hand.
Keep the fingers of your left hand on your right Collarbone Point and with two fingers of your right hand, tap the Gamut Point, continuously while you perform the following 5 breathing exercises:
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe normally for 7 taps
Place the two fingers of your left hand on your left Collarbone Point and, while continuously tapping the Gamut Point with the right hand, repeat the following 5 breathing exercises.
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps.
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps.
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps.
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps.
- Breathe normally for 7 taps.
Bend the fingers of your left hand so that the second joint or “knuckles” are prominent.
Repeat the sequence one last time by placing the left knuckles on the left Collarbone Point and doing the 5 breathing exercises one last time.
- Breathe all the way in and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe half way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe all the way out and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe in half way and hold it for 7 taps
- Breathe normally for 7 taps
When do you use the Collarbone Breathing Exercise?
In most cases assume you don’t need it and proceed as normal with the EFT Basic Recipe.
This is a logical assumption because the normal EFT tapping sequence is typically quite effective for most people. However, if you have used the EFT Basic Recipe persistently and your results are either slow or non-existent then start each round of the EFT Basic Recipe with the Collarbone Breathing Exercise.
You may find that it clears the way when working with difficult or complicated issues, and can certainly take your EFT tapping to the next level.
