Chakras are the body’s powerhouse, comprised of seven centers or major chakras.
They are: the root chakra, which extends between the thighs and half way between the knees, the crown chakra located at the top of the head and remaining chakras respectively: sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat and third eye.
Often the aura surrounding the body is referred to as the eighth chakra.
Chakra balancing
Chakras are invisible to the human eye but can be detected by trained energy practitioners.
Having your chakras evaluated can help you understand how your body works on an energetic level. It can also uncover any possible energy issues with your body. Having imbalanced chakras can stress other chakras – in other words they will be working overtime and therefore will not be functioning properly.
This can affect your overall sense of well being and energy level.
It is always best to seek out an experienced energy healer, but there are a few exercises you can start with at home to restore balance to your chakras.
Always wear loose comfortable clothing, relax in a quiet, well ventilated space before practicing your chakra balancing exercises.
Simple Exercises
Crown Chakra
Meditation and prayer works well. Set aside 15 minutes a day to quietly meditate.
Third Eye
This is located between the brows. Positive visualization and lucid dreaming is beneficial for this chakra.
Throat Chakra
Gargle with salt water, sing or chant.
Heart Chakra
Vigorous yoga or exercise and practicing positive affirmations about yourself can activate this chakra. Give yourself a hug!
Solar Plexus Chakra
Dancing and drumming energizes this chakra.
Sacral Chakra
Pelvic Exercises: circular pelvic and pelvic thrusts.
Root Chakra
Go barefoot, walk in the grass, practice yoga “the tree pose”.
Aura Cleansing
Swim in the ocean or a moving stream, shower, soak in Epsom salts or sea salt, smudge the perimeter of your body with sage, utilize deep cleansing breaths.
